What If?
What if God couldn't take the time to bless us today because we couldn't
take the time to thank Him yesterday?
What if God decided to stop leading us tomorrow because we did not follow
Him today?
What if we never saw another flower bloom because we grumbled when God sent

What if God didn't walk with us today because we failed to recognize it as
His day?

I had a mother, but she died, and left me,

THE PARTING
A SPARKLING TEAR HAD DECIDED TO VOYAGE OUT !
HE LAUGHED OUT AT THE WETNESS OF THE EYES.
THE EYES THAT WERE LUSTRELESS FROM CRYING.
BUT THIS SOLITARY TEAR WAS DANCING IN GAIETY
WITH A LIGHT, A SPARKLE, A MAGIC BRIGHTNESS;
HIS BRIGHTNESS SNEERED AT THE DARKNESS, OF MY SLEEPING FATE.
THE TEAR THAT HAD DECIDED TO VOYAGE OUT,
THE TEAR THAT WOULD NOT BE HELD BACK BY ANY FORCE,
THE TEAR ROUND WHICH EYES HAD BUILTE A CLOSE NET,
THE TEAR THAT WAS A PRISONER WITHIN THE CAGE OF THE LASHES,
LIKE A PEARL EMERGING FROM THE SHELL: HE HALTED AT THE DOOR,
LOOKED BACK WISTFULLY, A PICTURE OF VALEDICTION,
AND CRIED, TAKING A SWIFT KISS OF THE CORNERS OF THE EYE,
" I GO ! "
EYELASHES DROOPED, GROPING FOR THE SUPPORT OF THE TEAR,
THE TRAVELLER ESCAPED THE EMBRACE OF THE LASHES,
AS SOMEONE MAY SOOTHE A CRYING CHILD
AND SAID, " THE PEARL ONLY GETS ITS VALUE
WHEN IT VOYAGES OUT OF THE SHELL,
HOW LONG COULD I REMAIN HID WITHIN DARKNESS ?
EVEN THOUGH I WON'T STAY HERE ANY MORE;
MY LOVE FOR YOU WILL ABIDE
AND YOUR LOVE I TAKE WITH ME IN MY HEART"--
AND SO THAT BRIGHTER, LUNAR LIGHT OF THE EYE
LEAVING THEM VACANT AND VOID BEHIND
