[PF:153167] Six militants killed in Darra attack

PESHAWAR: Six militants were killed and five security personnel sustained injuries when the forces repulsed an attack on the Spina Thana camp in Darra Adamkhel early on Thursday, official sources said. 

Sources disclosed a group of militants attacked the Spina Thana camp in the Akhorwal area of Darra Adamkhel with heavy weapons. "The assailants fired rockets and mortar shells at the security post and opened indiscriminate fire," sources said. 

The security personnel repulsed the attack and killed six militants, sources said, adding five troops were also injured in the attack. The wounded soldiers of the Frontier Corps were identified as Lance Naik Eid Muhammad and Sepoys Burhanuddin, Ghulam Hussain, Nasir and Shoaib. The wounded soldiers were shifted to the Combined Military Hospital, Peshawar. 

According to officials, the attackers took along bodies of their colleagues killed in the clash. 

Curfew was clamped in the area after the clash and a search operation was launched in Zor Killay in Akhorwal from where security forces recovered 25 mortar shells, 20 rockets, three night-vision goggles and thousands of cartridges.
